If you are experiencing severe tooth pain, swelling, a broken tooth, fever, or pus, you are exactly who this clinic is for. Patients in pain are seen first. Book a screening appointment to be assessed.
Who we see first
This clinic exists for patients in pain. That one fact decides the order of everything below, and it is the difference between being seen next weekend and waiting for a slot to open.
Seen first, always. If you are in pain, this clinic is for you and you are the reason it is open.
We do provide fillings, but they do not take priority. Tell us when you book that you need a filling rather than an extraction and you are placed on the waitlist. We book as many patients in pain as the day holds, then fill any remaining slots from that list.
Seen only if a slot remains once the above are booked. Please do not travel to the clinic expecting this work to be done.
We do not provide cleanings or hygiene care at all. A routine check-up can be done, but it does not take priority.
If you are not in pain, we cannot see you for treatment on a treatment day. You are very welcome to join the waitlist for a filling.

What to expect
We do not accept walk-ins, and nobody is treated on the day they first arrive. Every patient needs an appointment.
You must attend a screening day before any treatment. We record your concern, take radiographs, and photograph the tooth you are worried about.
After your screening the dentist reviews your case and writes a report on it.
You will get a call explaining whether we can treat you on a treatment day, or whether your case needs to be referred out.
Every dentist here is a volunteer, giving their weekend to keep the clinic open. The treating dentist works within what they judge they can provide safely and comfortably, and may decide your case is better referred out. That judgement rests with the dentist.
Average wait times at a community clinic are longer than at a private practice. That is the trade for care at this price, and we would rather say so now than surprise you on the day.
If you receive any form of government assistance and can provide proof of it, you qualify for a further reduction on top of our standard fees. Bring your documentation to your screening appointment.

Those are ranges across many practices, not the prices of any one clinic. Savings are measured against each guide’s own average where it gives one and the middle of its range where it does not, and rounded down. We have no published figure for surgical extraction, so nothing is claimed for it.

Examination, radiographs, and photographs of the tooth concerned, reviewed by a licensed dentist.
The dentist writes a report on your case afterwards. You will then receive a telephone call telling you whether we can treat you on a treatment day, or whether your case needs to be referred out.
No treatment is performed on Saturday.

Treatment
8:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Extractions are performed on this day, and restorations where a slot allows.
By appointment only, and only for patients who have already attended a screening. The cost is agreed before treatment begins and settled at the clinic.
You cannot be treated without attending a screening first.

No. This clinic exists specifically for patients without dental coverage. If you do hold dental insurance, a general practice will see you sooner and your plan will cover part of the cost.

Every dentist here is a volunteer, and the treating dentist works within what they judge they can provide safely and comfortably. The clinic is registered with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners.
Saturday is for screening; Sunday is for treatment. Separating them means the diagnosis and the cost are settled before any treatment starts, and the dentist has adequate time for the procedure itself.
We will still examine you, tell you what is wrong, and refer you to a provider who can carry out the treatment you need.
